Our club currently runs 4 separate programs. The first two, HAP (Horticulturist Award Program), BAP (Breeders Award Program) allow members to collect points at different levels. Not only does this give the participant a goal to strive for but it allows them to learn along the way. This knowledge can then be shared with other members and even clubs.

Next is C.A.R.E.S (Conservation, Awareness, Recognition and Responsibility, Encouragement, Sharing and Support). This is a unique preservation program specifically designed to encourage hobbyists worldwide to devote tank space to one or more species-at-risk, while forming an information network between aquarists, scientists, and conservationists. The C.A.R.E.S. preservation program has been implemented by KWAS and all our members are encouraged and welcome to participate. Whatever one's level of expertise, there is a fish for you. Imagine how good you will feel being able to say I helped save a fish from going extinct!

Our last program is our clubs library. This is a terrific resource for all club members. Sometimes we don't all feel like hoping on the internet and doing a bunch of research. A good book or DVD is a great way to relax and learn.

We are very excited to announce that a 5th program will soon become a part of our club. MAP (Marine Achievement Program) is currently under the final stages of development. Cam Turner has devoted a lot of time into researching what is sure to become a very active part of our awards programs. All going well, we hope to go live with the program sometime in March 2011.
