Welcome to the Kitchener Waterloo Aquarium Society website and forum. Our club was founded over 50 years ago in 1960. KWAS is a friendly, family oriented, non-profit organization which welcomes hobbyists of all ages who want to learn more about this fascinating hobby. All of us want to learn and share our experiences and expertise with others. Our club is very diverse, with interests ranging from freshwater tropical fish and aquatic plants to marine fish and reef keeping. KWAS is also a charter member of CAOAC and a proud partner with C.A.R.E.S

  • Next KWAS Meeting

Our May meeting features Ken Boorman from Chatham talking about Aussie Native Fishes For Your Aquarium (other than Rainbowfishes & Blue-Eyes). Ken belongs to the Chatham-Kent Aquarium Society and will show us some of the lesser-known fish from "Down Under" that are kept in aquariums by hobbyists in Australia. Some of these are readily available here while others will be on "wish lists" only until they are imported. Please remember your 2013-2014 KWAS executive will be chosen at this meeting. This is your chance to step up and make a difference. Make your vote count! Our doors open at 7pm and the meeting gets underway at 7:30pm sharp. We hope to see you there.

    Competition in mississauga

The competition could be good for both of them. It is also good for us hobbyist as stiffer competition should bring in a better selection of fish at all
