Hi everyone. I want to say sorry to the members, mods, and admins that have taken time and effort to reply with tonnes of great information and advice to my questions. I'm sorry if it seemed as if all your time has been for nothing because of me not following the advice and instead just asked another question, and another, and another, until the thread was impossible to follow and people starting getting frustrated. And because of not following the advice given, I have been burned badly by it. I lost about $100 in fish. This happened twice when I asked what was wrong with my discus, and everyone said they had HITH and that I should QT them ASAP. What did I do? Or more precisely, what I didn't do? I didn't listen and kept asking more and more useless questions until it was too late.

And about the polls, I am sorry for asking how much you all have spent of equipment, tanks, etc and not normal poll questions like "how long does it take you to cycle your tank?". The hobby is about enjoyment. Not about how much people have spent on their stuff. When I asked those questions, I wasn't trying to justify anything, I was just... I don't know what got into me. Now, about the poll choices... For a "how much have you spent on your light fixture?" poll, the choices ranged from $15 to $200 000. $200 000!! who would spend that kind of money on an aquarium? Let alone a light fixture? If I had that kind of money I would buy myself a nice Audi or Ferrari, plus have extra money left over for some aquariums. I don't know why I did that...

And also, sorry for arguing. It makes people frustrated and makes them feel that I don't care the least bit for all the detailed responses they gave me. Does it make sence that I (intermediate-ish) argue with admins, mods, and other members (pro-expert)? Neither do I.

Thank you everyone for your time and effort put into very detailed responses filled with great advice and information.

I belong to a business forum called LinkedIn. This came across my notifications today (I hope you can access the link.
The jist is that they are claiming that The Georgia Aquarium holds more than 8.5 million gallons (31,000 cubic meters) of salt and fresh water and displays up to 120,000 animals that represent 500 species - setting the new world record for the largest aquarium.

The comment that follows is that Atlantis Aquarium in New York http://www.atlantismarineworld.com/ holds 11 million gallons (although their website says 1 million gallons).

I love Waterloo's Buskers Festival. I go every year - lot of laughs, a bunch of surprises. In addition to great street theatre, I run into people I haven't seen in years- old elementary school friends, highschool friends (why do I always find THEM at the adult show?? [smilie=muhaha.gif), neighbours, old teammates. It's great.

Unfortunately, I had a tough time enjoying myself this year. Don't get me wrong - all of the performers were just as entertaining as always, but...at EVERY SINGLE PERFORMANCE there was some kid or adult holding a bag or three with fish in it.

All day. In the sun. In a bag. Being shaken, dropped, bumped, squished, forgotten. I'd be shocked if most fish survived long enough for the trip home, and dumbfounded if the rest lasted a week.:(

Come on Waterloo! Hiring a carney who gives out LIVE ANIMALS as prizes? The city with some of the most harsh animal cruelty bylaws condones this?? So appalling. SOMEONE didn't think that through.
