In my experience.... WC caught Sa fish are harder to breed./spawn than F206 offspring that have years to acclimate to other conditions... water, temps, food etc...... We discussed this at our last Exec meeting... looking at what kinds of fish were consdiered very difficult to breed way back when BAP lists were first established...... plecos are currerntly considered a Class D fish.... which means it is one of the harder fish to spawn..... or was back then...... now most people can throw two BN plecos into a tank and a few months later have little ones swimming around in their tank.....

So, I believe that WC fish will bring more challenges... they are also not accustomed to many fish diseases and maladies that are common for our fish...... many WC fish can pick up things that they do not have antibodies for... much like the North American Indian's experience with small pox and measles....... That said... I have purchased several WC plecos and have not had a difficult time keeping them alive.... but I have not worked on breeding them yet.... need to do that with my yellow zebras soon.....
