Wild caught
Tank raised
Hmmm, quite the topic. For many of us we just keep fish. Therefore it is great to have high end fish, but in reality they are our pets and we care for them weather they are mixed bread or not. So our needs should not require constant wc fish. As enthusiats we should try and stay with tank raised, to support the wild populations. OF course those who capture there are most likely as responsible as 3yr olds. The mighty buck rules all. Now I feel its important for breeders even amature ones to try and buy a couple of wc's for the reason of introducing new strains of genes to there aquarium stock. I also wish those who buy fish, that have been in this for many years would buy there fish from many different scources to try and limit the brother sister issues. Newbies of course dont realize that the same crew of people supply certain stores, so the fish constantly come from the same parents, but the rest of us do. I used to breed but no longer have room for the tanks, so now they are just my pet friends, but I know I would like to think I could find guys like Terry and know I could get some good stock because he shops around and gets some wild stock. But I also hope he and everyone else keeps in mind the need for natural conservation.
